Forgive me if this information is readily available, but I could not find it...
What type of steels make up Buck’s Stainless Damascus blades, and who makes it?

I've only ever seen that on their Legacy knives, and it's always been Damasteel. So RWL34 and PMC27. RWL34 is basically CPM154. PMC27 is basically powder-metallurgy 12C27.

The Onset is the ONE expensive Buck that I have seriously considered buying because of the steel. I have not spent over 400.00 on any 112 but there is something about Damasteel and the Onset ..

Thanks for the info, the knife I am looking at has raindrop Stainless Damascus so I would assume (I know, not always safe!) that it would be the same.

"Damascus" and "Damasteel" are two very different things.

"Damascus" is generically used to describe any patterned steel. "Damasteel" is a trademarked process and brand.

Buck uses both, but I think the Damasteel is only used on 3 different knives, the Onset, Pro-Hunter, and Ivory Vantage.

Damascus has been used on many, many Buck knives over the years. There is a distinctive difference between the two visually. If Buck is calling it Damascus, it is not Damasteel.

I've been told by Jeff Hubbard that the buck 110 Damascus from copper and clad is AEB-L and 304 steel.

This, but also if the specific knife you're looking at says 'stainless damascus' rather than Damasteel, we know that Damasteel didn't supply it, so it could be from Nichols or Vegas Forge or anywhere else. You'd have to know the provenance of the stainless damascus.
