The earliest Buck catalog that has Buck darts listed is from 1989. Puma Darts from New Zealand made the darts and we offered a whole line. I never knew there was so much to them!
1993 was the last catalog to mention them. I rarely have to answer a question about Buck darts although I do see them come up for sale online fairly often.

STOP!!!!!

Just STOP!!!!!!

I don't own a dartboard and those aren't issue boots!

I DO NOT need other things to search ebay for now!!!!

I'm going to put you ALL on my ignore list if this continues;)

Wow. (Yeah, I could have found out that way - I just never heard that before). I guess I haven't needed to buy any more for a "while."

Buck sold the pointy kind of darts and the blunt tip kind that had a special board. I guess they are pretty good quality. I have a couple of the boards at home but dont want to open them up and use them.

Joe, I could use a board and some darts... :D ... It would look good with all my Buck stuff.... ;) ....

Thanks,
ITE

Why were lawn darts banned again?

"Effective December 19, 1988, all lawn darts were banned from sale in the United States. Three children - ages 4,7, and 13 - are known to have died in lawn dart-related incidents. An estimated 670 lawn dart injuries were treated each year in U.S. hospital emergency rooms at the time of the ban."

I have witnessed pub patrons open velvet lined hardwood boxes [with mitered corners] and extract machine-turned darts with removable tips [like Jacobs chucks] and "feathers" that were perfectly flat and uniform...even different weight bodies (for different distances?)...They handled them like they were blasting caps or precious gems...

I don't know what they cost...I suppose if I had to ask, I couldn't afford them... :p

Reminds me of the one (and only) time I thought it would be cool to shoot an arrow straight up. I was about 10 at the time...and I swear that thing was tracking me the whole way down.

:D

Have a look...

I'm gonna take a set of 110s to a pub and use them on a board....just like the pic :)

That arrow in the sky gig is a hoot. As for me, when I was about four,
a older kid was shooting arrows at a cardboard box. I ran across the street to watch. Other kids started yelling...I turned to see that I was in the line of fire...good thing I turned my big head, arrow bounced off my scalp. Next thing I remember was being in a neighbor's car who was taking me to the base hospital with my mom holding a towel on my head. Still have the scar just above my dimishing hair line.
