Buck employees to be commended

My first post so hello and thanks to the many knowledgeable people on this board.

I was at the Buck Factory yesterday as well. It is impressive. Much nicer than the old one in El Cajon.

But what impressed me yesterday was not the factory or the knives.

Two Soldiers in dress uniform were there. They stopped in on the fly to purchase special gifts for family members of two local warriors who were killed in Iraq last week. We are a tight community and this still matters here. It was all spontaneous. The soldiers had been tending to arrangements for the funeral this coming weekend and new that some of the family (a brother and someone else I think) would appreciate a good knife. The employees (and the customers) gave the soldiers the respect they deserve and a supervisor of some sort came out to talk with them and take care of them personally. They purchased two very nice knives and Buck did custom engraving for them that day so that they would be ready before the services. None of it was planned or formal just good people doing the right thing naturally.

Well done Buck

I missed what you mentioned in your post when I was there yesterday, but any company that brings a large number of employees along with them when they move and also has many employees with 30+ years HAS to be doing things right.

Most of the employees would look up as we were walking by on the tour and give us a thumbs up. My kind of people!!

It was all very impressive....the plant, the employees and the final product. I'm looking forward to going back this morning before I start heading east again.

Somehow, none of this surprises me from the Buck Knives Company,I almost expect it from them, thats how much respect I have for the company. No good deed goes un noticed though, props to Buck and their employees.

I'm starting to believe that Buck is one of the remaining American companies I'm proud to do business with. I'm sure like any corporation they have their drawbacks but in the past year I've come to appreciate them and their products as is evidenced by my increase in purchases of Bucks.

Good story, worth passing on.

Buck ROCKS period, that's why I still carry one after all these years. Totally reliable and easy to sharpen, what else could anyone ask for?

Cheers,
Serge

gfbu,
Welcome. Thanks for sharing. Like Razor says, no surprise but I never get tired of hearing Buck stories, esp when our heros that serve are involved.
