Buck Four Piece Steak Knife Set - Chocolate Brown (Handle Material: PaperStone)

Hi AfghanWarrior -

I bought the complete block set for my son for his birthday.

Paperstone is like Micarta with paper used instead of the cloth. It is durable and the Bucks come polished up very nicely.

I highly recommend the Bucks.

Look into joining the Buck Collectors Club (BCCI) - you will get access to the Buck Prosite, where you can buy a so many knives a year for wholesale or drastically discounted prices. The kitchen sets count as one knife.

mqqn,

I did join the Buck Collectors Club (BCCI) and ordered two knives last week. I will get two sets next year for her with this Buck Pro deal. I was thinking German, Swiss, or Japanese steak knives, until I found the Buck ones. I just do not understand the "paperstone" handles. If they are dishwasher safe they must be durable. I would really like her/us to get the Buck made ones.

The paperstone handled models are dishwasher safe and durable. I gave my wife the Buck Kitchen set and she really likes them. DM

For $20 you could buy a Paperstone Ranger or Odyssey off the Buck web special page and have one to play with and see how you like the material. Cheaper than buying a kitchen set up front then not liking it.

Good point...I need to find one to look at.

AW,

The wife and I met Chuck Buck at Bass Pro Shop almost two years ago now. Chuck gave my wife a gift of a paperstone spreader, that knife is the go to kitchen knife and gets used a few times every day, it lives loose in a kitchen drawer and the handle looks new not a scratch or a ding. You can find one of these on the bay for about $20, buy one for your wife to test drive before you buy the steak knife set!
