Hello all together!

I need once more some advice to make my decision!
I´m very sure that my next knife should be one of these two, but I´m concerned which size would be best. Is there any advantage of the longer blade of the general? Or is the somehow shorter blade of the special just more practical and can do the normal work as well as the general???

Thanks to all who think about this!!!

Bye,

My primary , heavier woods knife is the 119 Special. I,ve carried it since 1990. I has done everything I,ve ask of it including skinning Deer, and Cattle, splitting wood with the aid of a baton, built traps, dug roots, and cleared shooting lanes, and tent sites. My only complaint is I wish Buck had made the blade stype more "Kabar" like , with a less pronunced clip. i feel this is the only real weak point in the design. I don't personally feel the General holds any great advantage over the Special, the Special being easier to wield an any situation due to its shorter length. Mine is made of 425 .SS, I was rather impressed with the way it sharpens with a DMT trifold steel, and the way it holds an edge.

Admiral Numa: I favour the 119 Special simply because it looks more correct in proportion in relation between blade length and handle length. Also if you care to notice, both blades are same thickness and width. Just my educated guess, but I suspect that the Special handles better and would take stress better.

Krizzard, out.
