Anyone have any experience with this knife? I'd be sort of interested but am getting a little scared given the recent discussions of S30v.

You can find these for about 20 bucks on Ebay. Given Buck's great customer service and the low price, it's a no-brainer if you want one. Your post just reminded me that I need one too. :D

I'd really love some opinions and photos of this knife as well. Comparison shots and in hand photos would be wonderful.

This should be Bos heat-treated S30V, and I think a lot of the problems surrounding the steel are due to (mis)heat-treating. Therefore, one would think this S30V should preform pretty well given the mans reputation.

it seems like i found a user review somewhere but i can't remember where, the reviewer liked it a lot. apparently his only complaint was it is quite a bit smaller than he thought. looks like a pretty neat little knife and it has made my need to buy list. while on the subject of size it seems like there was a post somewhere regarding s30v and the gist of it was if it's a smaller blade then no problem, you just didn't want a bowie made of the stuff. I would think with good heat treat it should be fine. if you get one let us know, thanks ahgar

Vivi,

Yes i can say that the thin profile made it real easy to slice through triple thick cardboard 1/6th of inch thick. Wrapping the sheath in duck tape removes the issue of it being way to loose for carry and gives it potential as a ultra light survival-kit type knife. I'm afriad I can't get photos.
