I'm thinking of buying a Buck Honemaster. I know they're not making them anymore, but I've read that they're pretty good. Anything you could share with me about them would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

coyote, The model you mention is a good edge guide . Even author Steve Bottorff in his book on sharpening wrote about Buck's model 136 Honemaster saying, " if you can find one get it " . They are well built, adjustable, easy to work and are a huge asset in helping one hold a consistent edge angle during sharpening . If your having trouble in this area of sharpening, get one as it will make you a pro . I still find them at knife shows, flea markets and sleeze-bay . Even if its found without the box the model #'s stamped into the metal body . Good luck . DM
