...hmmm...Looks like a Model 500 Duke to me. Made between 1981 and 1984. The blade steel may be 440C or 425M. It was chamged to 425M from 440C in about 1982. A little sanding and polishing and it would be a nice "looker"...:thumbup:

Yes to Flatlander and Darry. The Duke is now made only in limited editions. Buck currently has one, the Royal Flush Duke, on their website.

From the photos it looks like the blade tip is exposed when closed. This could mean one of two things. It needs some serious cleaning inside or at the blade pivot, or it could be something for Buck's warranty department to correct. There are also people on this forum who may be able to tell you how to correct that.

I have 1979 when the 500 Duke first came out . Then in 1984 the stamping was changed to a block lettering style and this pattern went well into the late 80's . Sometime around 1986, perhaps even later into the year date blades as I've seen in a founding members collection (member #29) a 1987 Duke dressed in standard attire only sanded now not polished .
