I recently picked up a Buck 371 to use for breaking down cardboard boxes at the office. It cost about 20 bucks at Wal-Mart. I figured that it would not last long cutting cardboard was I surprised.

After two months of cutting boxes that Oxygen equipment is shipped in, the edge has only required minor work on a ceramic rod to keep it sharp.

Overall I was impressed with it considering I was expecting an import POS:

Good edge retention and moderately easy to resharpen

Fit and finish are as good as my 301

Backsprings are not too tight or loose, good tension on the blades

Still not sure about the laminated wood handle

I have heard lots of negative about Buck imports. I have not seen it in this one. Did I luck out a get a good one or are the imports good for every day using knives.

Bucks line of imported traditional pocketknives are pretty much the best ones I've used.

I think Bucks QC is pretty good all the way around. I thought they offered their 4ever warranty on all their stuff?

I have to admit that I was skeptical about buying one, turns out that they are a good value for the money. This one has ended up as an EDC knife.

I think I might end up with another one before long.:)

I have really enjoyed the 37x's as well. They are outstanding for the price, better than some other knives that cost more. I have the large stockman, a solo, two trios, and two muskrats.

They do, even the import stuff.

Also some kudos to Buck on their move over the last year or so, to bring back much of their import lines to domestic production. (not the traditional slippies we're talking about here, but the Bantam and other lines)
