I posted in Carl's Lounge a few days ago My wife made me take all my knife displays and guns out of the living room for the holidays. Inspiration hit when the tree went up along with some red paracord and a Buck 309 and well this picture tells it all.:D

Great decorating idea Randy.  Should be submitted to Better Homes and Gardens.:D
Just explain to them it's not only decorative but it is also way to assist Santa in knowing which gift he should consider leaving at your house.
Long time ago (before being married) having no ornaments I once decorated a Christmas tree with lights, tinsel and fishing lures. Thought it looked pretty good too! :)

HGTV will see this thread and be making comments soon:D I might give that a shot tonight and see how long before my wife notices!

The 379/309 is by far my favorite. My 379 goes everywhere. It was given to me by my sons for Father's Day. The quintessential guys pen knife.

A present from your sons makes it even more special. I have a Gerber Bear Grylls my grandson gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago that I'll never get rid of and always carry it when he's around.

Seems like a very festive idea!
I enjoy seeing folks getting into the spirit of the holidays in a way that's especially meaningful to them! :D
Unfortunately, I don't have very many knives with bail or lanyard tube that enable them to be put on a Christmas tree.
Oh, wait, I have several Santa-red SAKs that would be perfect!

Not only an awesome idea, but also a very nice looking picture. Buck should put that on the cover of their Christmas sales flyer.

I took a center strand out of the paracord and tied a small loop around the unsharpened tang part of the pen blade then closed it and used that loop to tie the paracord to. Worked great.

My motive is strong. I spent last Christmas in a hospital bed wondering if I had time left. I do and I am gonna party like it's 1999.

I like it Randy. I did the same one year with a bunch of saltwater fishing lures. My wife ok'd the idea, but made me remove the hooks. :D

Good idea, Randy!! (But I'll bet I get into trouble if I try to put ALL my knives on the tree.)

They are discontinued but can be found, you know where, multi colored and have key rings on the end. They are small enough they won't weigh down the end of branches. Buck 305 Clippers, secondary blade replaced by scissors. 300Bucks

A funny thing about wives Bob they will wield a chef's knife in the kitchen at lightning speed, penetrate cloth with sewing needles pointed toward their fingers with force leave two large knitting needles concealed in a ball of yarn in the seat of our favorite chair but let us leave a fish hook out.:D. Good to hear from you my friend.
