Here's another recent aquisition. It's a Jiffy-Sharp gift set, the tang stamp on the 110 is from 1990. I checked the 1990 catalog and this set isn't shown in it.

Does anyone know it this set was made for some other vendor?

Has anyone ever used the Jiffy-Sharp and if so, how did it work for you?

I'm not sure who we made those for and dont have anywhere to look for the info.
I would say that the Jiffy sharp is good if your knife is VERY dull and rounded. Us it to get a basic geometry on the edge and then finish on a stone. A jiffy sharp does remove a lot of metal and if that is all you use to sharpen your knife, it may end up chipping the edge.
It works great in a pinch, but to get a nice edge, a stone is much better, imho. :)

Not two chunks of carbide to drag across the blade! Those things should be banned IMO!:barf: Sorry but I have seen some nice blades, Bucks included, with horrible scared edges from using just those to sharpen. I agree with the starting part and then onto stones. But as a set, it looks great!
