TLC, that is a cool knife...I do like the trapper pattern...and this one has tugged at my heart(wallet), along with it the 317...wouldn't they make an outstanding pair. Must go now and take my cold shower, then check bank account....nope, not going to do it, well maybe:rolleyes:.

Mike Keirns...As a side note the is a three dot on the bay #6606295287. I don't think it is the condition that you want, you have such an outstanding collection:thumbup:, but in case you want to start with it. Just a thought. Preston

That is a nice knife. It is a model 334. When they were first offered by Smoky Mountain this knife had a lot of blade etching and was referred to as the Millennium Trapper. It was brought out in 2000 and one blade had Chuck and CJs sigs etched on it. The other blade said 2000 Yesterday Today Tomorrow etched on it. The knife is a standard Camillus trapper pattern just like a Buford Pusser or the large trapper from their wildlife series.

Thanks for giving a model number, it doesn't show in any of teh auction pictures, and I am making a list of Buck slipjoints.

I kinda suspected these were commissioned by SMKW, there was a Buck Congress pattern made by Camillus for SMKW also I think?

There are 6 ersatz Bucks (Made by Camillus for Smoky Mountain); 322 Congress, 329 Freedom Trapper, two Barlows (a normal sized one and a big Granddaddy Barlow) that are 330 or 331 or 332 (one is one number the other is another of those three numbers but I am not sure which is which), 333 The California Toothpick, and 334 the Millennium Trapper.

Thanks for the thought Preston, however, I got hold of a three dot a couple of weeks ago (haven't got a photo yet) with no marks and a full blade with just a few scratches to the blade tip that can come out with a little buffing.

What about the 313 Yellow Delrin Handled Muskrat? Was it Camillus or In-house?

Camillus contract knife. They also did a few 307 Wranglers in yellow.

Thanks Larry, I have seen a 329 Trapper in yellow recently on ebay also, I was fairly sure they were Camillus contracts, as far as I have ever seen, only the 301,303,305,309 were brought in the house at Buck?

Larry Oden said:
Well, don't forget that Buck also produced the 310 Whittler plus the 312 and 314 trappers in house.

Were these models ever made by Camillus or were they always Buck from their start?

Larry Oden said:
Always Buck. They were initiated several years after the Camillus contract ended.

Thanks Larry, slowly and piece by piece my list of Buck slipjoints is getting better.

The one area I have trouble finding anything is what model numbers were the very first Schrade contract knives?

You need the new Blade's Guide to Knives. I covered all of that in my update of the 300 series section. The answer is first the 301 and then, later the 303.
After the contract was switched to Camillus, the 305 was introduced.
Email me for more information.

Thanks, that gives me an excuse to buy the new guide. I read the Buck section once and it was a great improvement!
