I am interested in more info on the Buck Kalinga. Is there
a number on the blade that denotes that it is a Kalinga? I am
also interested in purchasing one still in the box.I am a gun dealer who dabbles in knives. Is there a name for Buck knives having 119 on the blade?Just curious since I have one without the box.Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Gun dealers don't have to introduce themselves here, it OK,we understand. The Kalinga is so distinctive that the early ones didn't need a number, later on they say "KALINGA" on them. The 119 has always been the SPECIAL. It was one of the original Buck knives (1964) and for many years it was Buck's best selling fixed blade knife.

Vern,
So are you saying that Kalingas exist with the BUCK / U.S.A. stamp? I have never seen one but would not be that surprised if a few exist. I do know (and have) both a Kalinga and an Akonua with the inverted (read with knife pointed down) three line stamp (BUCK / KALINGA / U.S.A.) Of course, the later models have a year mark on the blade as well and these are read with the knife pointed up.
