Has anybody used the Buck kitchen knives? I ordered the 13 piece set with elk horn handles, but it's going to take over a month to get them. I guess they are made as the order comes in because nobody has them in stock.

We have them, but not the elk handle... Maybe someday. I would love them in the kitchen! Ours are the rosewood set. They are great knives, you won't be dissapointed!!!

Deerslayer, I got my wife a set with the green paperstone handles last month for our 21yr. Anniversary . She seriously loved them (presenta mucho besos) . I think your correct they do make them as the orders come in . I think mine took 2 months from order to delivery . Make sure of the price as Buck printed a update price list and it was higher than the first printing which was all I had to order by . My distributor e-mailed me that figure as the correct price but when I got the knives the invoice reflected a higher price with a note stating Buck printed the first price list with an error . Most wives have hand-me-downs kitchen cutlery sets, mine included . My mother and Grandmother never had more than a 3 different make knife set . So, when My wife recieved the Buck Kitchen set she was very excited . We've used them now and she's still enamored with the set . When you present them to her maybe plan a little meal or toast to christen them properly as a family heirloom . As they will easily out live us . DM

UH-OH!

I have a set of green ones ordered, and paid for at the lower price point.
Did not get delivery on them yet.

Well when mine came they were about 16$ more than the stated price than was agreed upon . A honest mistake ? I think so . But Wal-Mart does this everyday, the shelf price states $19.99 for an item but when you get to the register it scans $22.99 . They must honor the stated shelf posted price . If Buck's distributors eat the difference enough and stood by what they quoted their customers as honorable this would get worked out FAST . DM

16$ more would not be bad.

I agree Buck needs to work with distributors better, so this does not happen again.

I do have a rosewood chefs knife and spreader and liked them so much that a dishwasher-safe, matching set would be good for every day use.

Ya know a rosewood sandwich-spreader signed by the Buck family would be the ultimate.

:):):)

Joe H. has mentioned to me that Chuck gives some of those away at speaking engagments sometimes and they are signed . People love them and I can see why . The spreader need not hold it's edge so, its made of 410 steel . DM

The price of the Elk handle set varies wildley from seller to seller. I don't know why there are such huge differences.

I got mine for Larry O. the Clubs dealer .
Deer, it's mostly the difference in antler color and grade . DM
