Buck Knife Definitions.......Interesting and a Few Laughs.

Oh my word... that Urban Dictionary entry... what the heck is wrong with these people? I'm going to have to correct that stupidity right now.

Now, while you're at it, clean up all the English language please. :D

However, if we were in France and communicating in French, there would be one allowed use of the term "buck knife." They have a commission which oversees their language. Please, someone in France, verify this for us, thx.
 
yes i also have heard that France has a commission on the French language to keep it
"French" but they do at times allow words in to their lexicon that orgonate in another language for which there is not a French equivalent..

as to buck knife as a term or a name..
it is this reason of ambiguity in the site search of blade forum

that i as (334dave) started the quest for and seceded in getting
the Buck Knife for sale forum in place..
the old timers will remember that the owner here said that if we could get
XX number of new gold members or guest members to up graded to gold
members saying they also wanted it that it would happen
they did and it did --

humm.. does any one here now been here long enught to recall when
the buck for sale forum was not here?
i am sure bg42 will check it out ...
even in another life i dont think he has been here that long ...
also i did the winkapeada deff for buck knife it only lasted a week or so
as
there are a bunch of winky 'experts' that like to have there name on it n
that took over and redefined my def...
i corrected it once but .. gave up
 
as a side note
does any one recall why the fixed bladed bucks become to quick to
bring bucks name to the for front as a quality using knife
such that it almost become a common use word?

A dad at boyscouts told me his son wanted a "Buck" knife for Christmas. What is that? I told him it was a brand and I had my son show him the Vantage I got him. I find most people think any locking folder with wood a handle is a Buck knife.
