need your help again fellas, been looking for a skinner in buck vanguard ,did lean toward s30v steel but have trouble finding them ,cabelas have one and looks good ,then there is a seller on ebay here in australia tanglefoot discount knives [usa] he seems really honest and has a vanguard in 420c for 68 dollars aus plus postage .my question is if s30v is so good why dont buck make more and how and why do cabelas end up with with vanguards in s30v,,just need a non bias no crap answer, cheers sqiurrel.

S30V is a premium steel, and adds cost to the price of a knife. Buck seems very concerned with keeping the cost of their knives low.

It's also a huge upgrade from 420HC. It takes a keen edge, and holds it well.

Cabelas seems to have a few exclusive contracts with makers. They have a lot of other makes of knife in high-end steel that aren't available anywhere else.
