My 2nd Edition Levine's Guide to Knives and their Values doesn't mention an aligator skin handled Buck, but it does say that the Buck custom department made over 5,000 custom knives for individual customers.

OLD VINTAGE BUCK 529 SNAKE SKIN POCKET KNIFE KNIVES PEN, $16.01, 5 Bids, 11-18-2004. (That's from the Google stored index of Ebay, the knife's not there any more...)
1988 BUCK 529 FOLDING SLIMLINE KNIFE RED LEATHER BRASS - $24.99 (that's from an auction site, http://www.vu/s/buck-folding/
