Old Buck Knives used Olde English style lettering on the blade (I have a 1970s Duke 500 with this), modern bucks use block lettering. Did they ever use serif lettering such as the B has the horizontal lines at the top and bottom extending past the vertical line in the letter B and little horizontal lines at the top of both tops on the letter u?

The 500 & 700's had the English script style lettering stamp. As well as the 111 Classics, model 200 Empress Trio and the Windsor model 206.
It was also on a sharpening steel model 137. Your Duke would have been from 1978-1984 as this script stamp went away around 1985. Serif style lettering stamps I've not seen. Welcome, DM
