The brown/gold theme is a mid 80's style patch.
I have some of those patches but couldn't locate immediately for comparison.
What can't be known from the picture is wether they are originals or remakes.
I would ask the dealer.

I couldn't find any literature showing a patch alone but here it is or one like it on a hat in the 1985 Buck catalog.

Guys, The hat and buckle are good. The patches are common. Now since they are pretty common it makes you wonder. But I can't believe that as few as would ever be bought someone would fake them. I have three, two were given to me, I think everyone else would only have a couple so I just don't think they are fake. Lets just call them real and go down the road. The hats are very high crowned because the patch is large, you never know they may come back in style......300

PS There are some gold and black decals about the size of the patch from the same era.

DeSotoSky,

Thanks for the great pics. I am new into this Buck habit (since about 2006) and I did not recognize the 1980s Buck Logo. It seemed odd NOT to have that "Buck Anvil" in the logo.:D
