I am looking for a new EDC, a buck knife to be xact. However there are so many knifes to pick from Bucks selection that i dont have time to research them all. Looking for $20-40 knife, edc, mediem size, blade 3-4inches, lightweight of corse. Cant wait to hear your opinions.

I like the Buck Lite Max or the Buck Vantage. Both start under $25.
The Buck lite is similar to the Buck 110 but lighter and less expensive. The Vantage has a linerlock with a flip open mechanism. For the ultimate in the Vantage, pick up the $30V version with G-10 handles. Both are USA made.

Buck Vantage. You can't beat it; and if you're lucky, you might still be able to get a Buck Vantage Limited Edition with Daimondwood handles.

I'd say a Vantage as well. The Select is at the low part of your price range, the Avid is right in the middle, and the Pro is just above it. Honestly, I'd go with the Avid, or the Pro if possible.

Yet another vote for the Vantage. I also agree with the previous post about upgrading to the Vantage Avid or Pro if possible. For a relatively small increase in cost, you get substantially better blade and handle materials (particularly with the Pro).

Also, if you decide to go with the Vantage and are ordering online, make sure you get the "Large" version of whichever variant you choose, since the "Small" version would be below your preferred size range. Most good online knife dealers will have it clearly labeled, but I just thought I'd give you a heads-up since places that don't specialize in knives (Amazon, eBay, etc.) sometimes aren't as good about that sort of thing.

I also vote for the Buck Vantage Pro. The one I like the best is the old Buck Crosslock but you dont see many of them anymore. The Vantage is very smooth. Good Luck. Kevin
