These two companies go together like peas and carrots. Today, they are manufactured 126 miles apart. Buck in Post Falls, ID. K&M in Elk River, ID. Both are a family owned business based on strong moral values.

Below is my "new" 110 and one of the first K&M Matchecases from the 90s. Last night, when I took this photo, I kept thinking about the movie, "The Edge". In the movie, the three basic items that were mostly needed and used were a knife, matches and a compass.

Any other K&M Matchcase owners here?

That's cool. The new match s nowadays don't seem to have the same pop or maybe it's just me.

Nope, it's not you, Horse in the Sky. As it seems with many things, strike-anywhere matches don't perform like they use to. :(

Love my K&M matchcase got mine in '89 or '90, it's been in my hunting vest ever since.
Mine has a different compass than the the one shown in your picture .

Thanks, you just gave me another reason to spend $$ :-) Just ordered a K&M case. American made and classic, things I really appreciate these days.

That is an excellent two dot you have!!

Thanks Stumps. I am pretty excited about this knife.

Love my K&M matchcase...Mine has a different compass than the the one shown in your picture .

7.5mas, Keith has been forced to use different compasses along the way. The first ones were unmarked Silva compasses. Then Brunton, Suunto, and now a high quality Japanese made compass. Keith is very particular about the compasses.

Great! You'll love it, ohen. Keith and & Marge are 70 years old and have had their share of health problems. I fear these matchcases will not be available someday. Did you go with brass or aluminum? I have both and they are of equal quality. The brass matchcase is heavy and has that old world look and feel - much like the 110. The aluminum matchcase is lightweight and perfect for backpacking.

Here is my aluminum matchcase. This one was special ordered with no anodizing, just natural aluminum. I didn't want to worry about the anodizing chipping.

Nice combo, love that two dot. :D:thumbup:

Thanks Sky. They compliment eachother well in quality and materials. Typically, the matchcases come with a nylon cord. I switched mine to leather.

Desoto, better get one while you can. They're milled from a solid piece of brass or aluminum.

Thanks Mr. Viking. That 105 is very photogenic.
