Visited with CJ Buck at NRA today. He is so friendly. Anyway, I finally got to see the Pro 100 Series and discovered they're even better looking in person. I also asked to see a 55. CJ said whenever he needs to give a business gift, he gives a 55 because everyone loves its size and classic styling.

Nicely done Tom. A couple buddies and I spent Friday & Saturday at the convention. I had the pleasure of meeting CJ, Moranda, Matt & Chris. A pleasure speaking with all despite the fact that they were very busy. Picked up a 110 Auto Elite and CJ kindly autographed my daily carry Marksman.

I was going to go this weekend, but it was the turkey opener in KY and I had to get the ground in my garden turned over.

Wife and I went in 2017, had a brief discussion with CJ. He's very much a politician in that atmosphere. Chatter seemed lost on him. In one ear and out the other. It wasn't the forum for chewing the fat, so I don't hold it against him.

I showed off the lanyard loop, he seemed pretty interested.

rhino rhino I am from west central Illinois. The annual meeting is a fantastic event and Indy is a pretty good spot to have it. Anyone thinking about attending Dallas-2024?

I'm still interested in the lanyard loops, too, whenever you get back to doing them! 😸

Are you near Berry? That's a good part of Illinois! I won't go to Dallas, but then I didn't attend in Indy any of the times it's been here. I prefer to avoid large crowds of people, especially in enclosed spaces.

Barry is about 45 miles west of home. Back in the day Barry was a good place to get shot. Just peace and quiet these days as far as I know. We are members of PASA Park. What is your connection with Barry?

They used to host all of the USPSA Nationals and a lot of other big matches at PASA Park. I've never been over there, but it was a common belief among shooters from more permissive states that the local police were more respectful of 2nd Amendment-protected rights than their counterparts in other part of Illinois. I was boycotting Illinois in those days (because of their laws), which is why I never went. Now with the newly passed laws, my boycott is on again. I can't even drive through the corner of the state legally anymore.

Yes, PASA was quite a place and is still a great place to shoot. Annual membership is only $40. Lots of pistol ranges, 200 meter and 600 meter rifle ranges. Big matches back in the day. Interestingly it was a community project built by volunteers.

An annual $40 for a membership to a facility like that is a steal!

I had a few VHS tapes produced by Lenny McGill of past USPSA Nationals that were held there.
