I'm not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this...my apologies if not but seemed appropriate.
I really wanted to make sure I publicly expressed my thanks to Buck for how well they dealt with a few recent warranty replacements.
I bought a Buck 501 and 505 (online) not long ago and noticed that both of them had some grinding when opened and the blades were crooked when seated. Having owned many Bucks in my life, I can tell you I've never had issues like that before. So I sent them back to Buck.
They responded within a few days of receiving the knives to let me know they had them, that they value me as a customer and were going to replace them right away...and they did. I got the replacements less than a week later and they were both, literally, perfect. Along with the replacements I also got a letter, again, expressing gratitude for being a loyal customer and a coupon for 25% off next purchase.
That, my friends, is what customer service looks like. I can compare this directly with two other US made knife manufacturers who I also sent items back for warranty repair/replacement at the same time. Neither of them contacted me, dealt with the returns quickly, or handled the warranty in a way that left me quite as satisfied to be honest. Customer service really does make a huge difference. Thank you Buck Knives!
