Buck Lightning - How Good

I have come across a Buck Lightning 170U with a 2.5" blade.
How good is it?
I used the larger version for a year as a work knife, worked great.
Is the 420hc blade really 58-60hrc?
Buck heat treats their knives according to methods that Paul Bos defines, and it works real great.
Would it make a good EDC?
Sure, just remember its a smaller knife, if thats whay you need then I would say sure go for it.
It has no belt clip - is this common for this model?
On the small model their is no clip, on the larger one their is.
And something that I find real cool about this series is that there are a ton of different colors and patterns available for the handles.
