Buck limited edition colt?

As I indiciated in your other post about the Flying Eagle 500, Larry Oden is probably the guy to answer your questions regarding current values. There are a few others here that might be able to help as well, but Larry is good. Unfortunately, I doubt if he will be checking in before Monday. I'll make sure he knows there are a couple posts here that he should look at...

IF you are truly interested in BUCK knives and want to learn more, and meet some really great people, you might want to check out the links in my signature for the Buck Collector's Club. A lot of us in here are members who regularly share info, ask questions, and harrass some of Buck's management people. How many times do you get to correspond one-on-one with Directors of Consumer Relations, or Quality Assurance? They stop here as well, and answer questions when you can't find anyone else who even cares. The BCCI IS factory sponsored, yet is its own identity. Special knives, newsletters, inside info, ..... what else can a Buck enthusiast ask for. If you want more info, feel free to drop me a email (link below) or ask of the club members here. Most identify themselves as members in their signture lines.

In any case, make sure that seat you pulled up is a comfortable one. You're gonna be here awhile....

Your knife is one of the Aurum etched 700 models. These knives were introduced starting in early 1980 (the 703 was the first model produced, incidentally) and each featured a deep etch of the appropriate horses or pony to match each model's name.
The knife in your picture only shows one blade but I suppose it is because the angle keeps the other two blades from being seen. By the way, only the 701, 703, 705 and 709 models were included in this run. The 704 was not manufactured until 1982.

Thanks for the information. Levine's Guide, 5th edition, lists the 703 (Colt) as issued in 1978 and the 701 Mustang, 709 Yearling and 705 Pony as 1979. There are also 501,110,112, 402,and 401 listed as Game Scenes (Aurum). Is Aurum the artist? Any idea as to present value of the 703?
