Buck Marksman.....

So I picked up a new Marksman, which is my first Buck in 20+ years. The whole design fascinated me, so I pulled the trigger. A few complaints though. Had to adjust the lock a bit, as it took a hard opening for it to fully seat. Using the thumb holes, or a light flick and it would not fully engage....even though it was probably safe. The other issue is there are light scratches/wear marks on one slab that definitely came from the factory. The scratches start then stop at the pivot, then start again on the opposite side. And the pivot shows no scratching. I ended up exchanging for one that was perfect out of the box.

Overall a cool design with one of my favorite steels, 154CM.

Thanks for your impressions of the knife first hand. This one is on my list but would rather purchase it from a store where I can try it instead of sending away and having to return. Have seen the blade deploy quickly when properly adjusted on this model. Sounds like a great lock-up and sturdy. Hopefully will find one I do not have to adjust. Considering tanto blade model as well.
