Does anyone get ahold on this? Any real pictures (instead of the computer edited version found on the net right now) on the knife and sheath would be much appreciated. Is the nylon sheath hard or with flex? Any review for share would be great! Thanks!

Thanks, Smith. It does seems to me a handy small knife. Does anyone own one yet?

Bought one, arrived a couple of days ago.

It's terrific!

Very, very glad to see Buck turning out such a quality knife.
It was razor sharp out of the box.

Finish and grind are excellent and uniform.
This is a near custom quality piece.

Sheath is hard nylon, and cleverly designed. Very little flex to it, and very low profile.

I like collecting neckers, and have a bunch of them - production and custom.
Many manufacturers seem to have an issue with making the knife/sheath sufficiently low profile.

Here, the knife & sheath present a dead flat profile in front except for one tiny protrusion where the knife enters the sheath. It can be filed down to dead flat.

Size and balance are simply excellent.

At street price, I think this is a great value in a necker.
Especially if you want it to have some utiliity use as well as SD/backup use.

At the price point, for production neckers, I still like the Emerson La Griffe the best. But it has very little use as a utility knife. I like it because of its
extremely low profile and the finger hole which allows for superior retention during use.

But again, for the money, the Kaala is a heck of a value.
A solid bar of S30V, slight hollow grind, satin finish, 3 inch blade...

 to Tom Mayo and Buck for this one.

Thanks for asking the question about the Ka'ala. Based on Rifon2's positive reply to your inquiry, I decided to get one too. Thanks Rifon2 for the info!!!

Will type more about it after I goof a bit with it.

FWIW, Mt. "Kaala" is the highest mountain on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu. It's just over 4,000 feet and is an area of archeology finds of native Hawaiians and their taro planting. The roots of the taro plant are pounded to make poi.

OK, so I 've fondled the Kaala for a bit.
There are only two things I wish the knife had:

1> Bevel in the grip. This pup has 90 degree angles from side to spine.

2> Mild serration for the thumb on the spine, or a psuedo-guard to keep the thumb from sliding over the blade spine while in use.

Other than that, great knife and recommended.

With that, IMHO, good review the down side is that it is a knife I will probably never use.
Neckers are illegal as heck here in Calif when carried as designed (under the shirt).
And, the sheath doesn't give much option for other ways to carry (need some holes for attaching using cord or clips).

BTW, absolutely no paperwork was in the box.

Over and Out...
