Hoping someone can help me here. (I tried searching past threads, but didn't find any info.)

It's now discontinued, but I'm curious about where the Buck Mayo 173 Northshore is/was made.
Does anyone know where this Buck/Mayo collaboration was made?
US? Taiwan? China? ???

It uses the 420HC steel for the blade.
I was thinking about getting one and wanted a bit more information, but couldn't find any manufactured info anywhere either here or on the web.

Thanks your your help!

That makes sense it was made in Taiwan. (Given the price point - figured it was likely US or Taiwan)

If you don't mind me asking you Jim, what did you think of it?
(Since you said the one you HAD - which implies that you no longer have it.)

The only comments that I could find on prior threads/web is that it's very light.
How was edge-holding? Comfort in pocket? etc...

Thanks!
Mike

I liked it alot. It was very light. The aluminum handles were just a tad small for my hands. The 420HC blade was great! It was a fairly thin design so it rode in the pocket very well! I just prefer a larger knife for edc thats all. I believe I bought a tempest after I sold the Northshore.
Good luck!

It seems to be that the 173 Northshore out of Taiwan was rarer than the other American models by the Buck/Tom Mayo collaboration.Mine was about $60 when I bought mine and like it a lot.Came across a NIB model several years ago in pursuit of a back-up but they seem to be hitting the $90-$100 price range now for that model.
