Man this knife looks very neat. My question for anyone out there is how frim does the nylon sheath hold the knife? I see it ride around the neck with the handle down so it would be important for the knife not to slide out! I got a Buck/Mayo Wiamea couple weeks ago and I'm very pleased with it. A Kaala might be just what it needs for a stablemate...........:D

I have not add a single "friendly fire" (accidental) deployment on the Kaala.

The lightening hole on the blade, closest to the tang, is used by the sheath to retain the blade in the sheath.

Buckaholic, can you do me a favor and see if the Kaala sheath holds the knife for either left or right handed carry?

Buck's website doesn't say if it's ambidextrous, looking at pic's it seems like it shoud be, but was hoping I could know for sure before I buy.

Thanks!

Hey TLC, yeah, it's ambrosia. The knife can be placed in the sheath either way.

Just so you guys know, the buck hartsook neck knife also comes with an ambidextrous sheath, and as a southpaw, I really appreciate it! - Jim

Thanks Jimmer!, I wondered about it to, have only seen 1 in a store and it was under locked glass. I got tired of trying to find a sales clerk with a key and left without getting to hold it and check.
