Any chance we can get some specs on the Mayo collaboration?
Blade length, materials, etc....

Paul

I would love to hear more about these. Can anyone tell us what size it might be at least?

Regards,

Tom Carey

I for one would LOVE to see a Buck framelock, with a 3.5" to 4" blade.

Yeah, me too. But no 420 steel. We want at least BG42! Maybe S30V.

I think that 3.0-3.5 would be a great length. I'm excited about this one.

My buddy that operates a brick and mortar told me that the knife will have a 3 1/4" S30V blade. He wasn't sure about the handle. He's expecting January delivery. He pre-ordered a dozen a few weeks ago, so sounds like it's a legit deal.

the deal is very legit but the specs on the knife are fairly rare...all i know is that you just informed us there will be a 3.25 inch blade....i knew the steel was going to be s30v and i do know the knife will have a disc opener on top of the blade....this will be a new design tom is putting out and he has been minimally open yet evasive about specs and pics and stuff like that...hopefully someone knows more than i do and can fill us in on the rest of the specs and hopefully a pic

At first we are going to reproduce the medium model (3.25" blade) and hopefully soon thereafter make a large size with a little bit thicker blade and handle material, just like the ones I make. S30V blades and 6/4 Ti handles. :p

PS. Tom, rumor has it these will be ready January? Will the release coincide with SHOT? Thanks.

Need I repeat myself? DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! I KNOW that this will be the END ALL FOLDER FOR ME!!!! I have been lusting after Tom's customs for the past two years....can't wait:D

Well, if it is going to look like the knife in the picture above and use the materials mentioned, I think this is going to be one very successful collaboration.

I would like to get some kind of idea what the list price of this knife is going to be.

Keith,
Inquiring minds, et. al. I'll bet that Buck will want to sell a bunch of these things. At least more than selling them to a bunch of us knife nuts on the forums:)
How much is Buck charging for the Strider knives? Don't you think that the Mayo collab will be somewhat higher. S30V and ti--I'll guess 200-300 bucks retail. More for the forth coming large model, but probably not more than 50.
But whadda I know:rolleyes:
Fun to guess!

Who knows? CRK sells tons of sebenzas for $300+. If done with good quality control, these could very easily compete quite favorably. You just have to have extraordinary QC to out Sebbie the Sebbie. I think that if Tom sets the standard and Buck upholds that standard, it will be a better knife than the sebenza.

3 1/4" S30V, ti framelock<<<sounds great!
Drop point? Clip point?
Hollow or flat ground?
Tell me tip-up carry will be an option.

After the big one, make a little wharncliffe. Please:)
Or maybe that could be another blade style option on the 3 1/4" model.
