How good is this 172 TNT ? From the little I could dig up it seems well made .
Tolerance's close to a Sebe ?
The TNT comes in a limited run of 250 I know these are S30V with Bos heat treatment .
The regulaer run is same steel S30v but not sure if its Bos heat treated .

Seems like its dicontinued ...any ideas where a new one can be bought [besides ebay]
Thanks

The TNT is Bos heat-treated. I have seen a lot of pics of them and I believe the Bos HT stamp is on the right side of the blade.

The TNT is a great knife and I would definitely recommend buying one. It is a stylish, low weight, easy to disassemble/reassemble knife that should live longer than you do.

As far as buying options, eBay is pretty much it, unless you find one here.

It's a great knife. Not quite up to Sebenza tolerances, but still a great knife, and in my experience the heat treat is superior to the Sebenza. The grind geometry is better than the small Sebenza - higher, thinner hollow grind. You can still find it for sale at a few online vendors - Cutlery Shoppe, Knifecenter, Knifeoutlet, and Amazon all show it in stock, to name a few. Here it is with a small Sebenza, Waimea, and BM 635:

I have small sebe ,large sebe , mini skirmish guess I Need TNT maybe the smller verson too ;)

Any feed back on the limited run - carbon fiber scale ??

The TNT CF version is an excellent folder. It is one of the smoothest folder I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned many folders that cost much, much more. The F&F is on par with CRK. The blade is hollow ground and has a rounded spine. The CF scale has a very classy finish.

The TNT CF is very light and thin. The folder weighs 2.2 ounces. For such a large knife, it really disappears in your pocket.

Buck TNT handle slabs are rounded and are not as thick as CRK’s folders. Thus, the TNT is not as stout as say, a Sebenza. However, the Sebenza is not as thick and stout as an XM-18 either. It depends on what you want to use the knife for. I wouldn’t call the TNT a hard use knife.

The smaller version, the Buck Waimea, is a superb little folder also.

I have an Unumzaan and a 172 Mayo TNT. The Buck is super nice - the CRK is better still. It should be - it cost over 3x as much.

As the TNT was dropped a year ago, they are getting hard to find. Still available with the same size blade in S30V - same heat treat - is the #347 Vantage Pro. You could have two or three at the TNT's best discount price - if you could find it! It's heavier - 4 oz vs 2.7 oz for the 172. Contoured G10 scales over SS liners - liner lock vs TNT's Ti frame lock.

Agree with everything you said, brother. The Buck TNT CF is indeed a very nice knife. It's one of my favorites.
