I am thinking of getting one of these, but I have never handled one, so I am looking for any info from owners. Likes, dislikes, issues, etc.

I have owned a couple of frame locks in the past (Classic Sebbie, and a Strider SnG CC), but found them a little big for EDC.

Thanks!

The TNT will be in between the large and small Sebs in size, and probably a bit thinner and lighter. It's a very nice slicer. It probably isn't as tough all round as the Seb, but if you're looking for a lightweight slicer, it's hard to beat. The action on mine is fine. Not quite as smooth as a Seb, but it's not a $400 knife, either. The lockup has always been very secure on mine.

The Waiamea is a smaller Ti/S30V framelock. It'll be closer to the size of a small Seb or Strider PT.

The Buck/Mayo TNT is one of the best carrying knives out there - the contoured handle is only about .45" thick at the fattest part. I tend to forget I'm carrying it. It's just hte right size.

My Buck Mayo is smoother than my small Sebenza. It is easier for me to open, the hole works well and is positioned well. It is lighter and thinner, and the blade has a thinner edge and higher hollow grind. As stated, it is not as heavily built as the Sebenza, but carries better. The only grief some people get is the horns on the handle sometimes get in the way if you are reaching past it into your pocket. The handle on the TNT is fairly thin on the edge so it would not be terribly comfortable for really long cutting sessions; the Waimea is not like this.

Maybe some comparison pics would help - Buck Waimea, Small Sebenza, Buck Mayo TNT 172,and Benchmade 635:

Thanks for the info, guys!

lambertiana, those pics were great, a lot of help!

I think the TNT is exactly what I am looking for, the size looks just right.

Can it be disassembled or does that void the warranty?

I just got the TNT, its a great knife from first impressions. They only problem is that the lock bar is very stiff due to the shallow cutout. Besides that, everything else is great.

I have taken my Waimea apart, and it is the same construction as the TNT. It is very easy to disassemble. I don't know what this does to the warranty.
