I went to take back the Buck 110 with the vertical blade play to dicks's sporting goods today, and what do I see in the display case? A buck Mini-alpha hunter on clearance for $9.97. Surely my eyes were decieving me. I asked the salesperson what it retailed for, and he said $15. I thought to myself, this knife has a nice wooden handle, ATS-34 steel,USA made and it has a really nice leather sheath, it has to be worth more than $15. So I purchased the mini-alpha, along with a new leatherman kick. The total price? $43.16. I went out to my car, and unpeeled all the clearance stickers off the box the alpha came in. I kept peeling the stickers away more and more, until I got to the original sticker that said $69.99! I think I did pretty good today.

I have a full size Buck Alpha with rosewood handles and i think its a great knife , theres something about it thats just right

I went to my local Dick's and they don't have the Mini-Alpha Hunter at all. I asked a clerk who seemed to be of reasonably normal intelligence and he had never heard of any clearance sale. I guess it was only at that one store.
