I have several of the Buck model 111 Classics and love them. I won another on the evil bay site, and got it last night. It was used and in worse shape then stated in the listing, and I almost was going to just keep it, but when I went to put it on the table the blade just fell open from the handle about an inch and half when I held the knife upside down as I was putting it on the table. I sent a video to the seller and he is taking it back, but I wanted to see what the thoughts are as to repair? I think the top pin is loose and causing the blade to have considerable play, but it also seems to have taken so much pressure off the back spring as to make it fall open. When I applied pressure to the handles it seemed to help the condition. Since the handles are aluminum I did not feel like trying to make a repair by tapping the pin as I think it would loosen quickly. I told the seller when he gets it back to send it to Buck and see what they can do. Has anyone seen this issue before? I have not. It shocked me to some point....
