Model 120 and 124, Bottom Line Up Front Buck needs to put these knives out again, I would buy both if they do that! and I think alot of other people would too!

A guy was on youtube and said Buck was going put out the 120 again, if so that is great, I know they have the special 120 General out right now that has the Hunting stuff on it, but they need to put the knife back into there regular line up. As far as the 124, I am a DA for not buying one when I was younger, looked at them in the knife case in sporting goods stores alot but never pulled the trigger, I will admitt that I have never had a 124 in my hand either but I want one really bad.

I just picked up a 110, the last 110 I had was about 21 years ago, so it was time to get a new one, I will pick up a 119 in the future, I had one of those too and gave it away to a Brother years ago.

I guess I am getting Buck fever at the age of 45, whats up with that!

Hi RickJ,

Welcome to the Buck forum!

Most of us here get the fever from time to time, so you came to the right place. The 120 is still for sale, it's at Cabelas in the Pro line series (check it out). The 124 gets put out every now and then as a LE knife. Also, you can find these tow at the auction sites every day. Good luck with your Buck Fever;), if you get these knives post some photos.

It's not shown in the catalog, but Buck is still producing some 120s most years for retailers that order in quantity.

They show up on e-Bay.

I doubt that these knives will be mass-produced again......simply not enough demand.

I picked up an unsharpened 120 in a pawnshop a coupla weeks ago. 40 bux out the door.

Putting the 124 back in production might be a little like Colt bringing back the Python. Everyone wants one based on what they used to cost or what they think they'll cost where the reality is if the market wasn't there to keep it in production the first time it probably won't be there the second time around either. Be that as it may I'd love to see the 124 back in the catalog with several scale options and the old pouch style sheath.

Also, there's the Boone and Crockett 120 listed in the 2011 catalog. Other than the B&C emblem on the handle and the Hunt Fair Chase stamp on the blade, it's the same knife.

Yea, we have alot of pawn shops around my location in Colorado, I think I will start checking them out for some good deals on traditional knives, mainly Buck and Case knives.

The 120 was the first knife I bought with my money. I was 12 so I have had it for 32 years. The 124 my wife bought me as an anniversary gift about 16 years ago. I have to admit I own a lot of Buck knives and the 124 is my favorite. It does it all, it is a perfect hunting and woods knife. If they ever brought it back I would buy several.

The model 120 was my 2nd Buck knife purchased in 1981. I still like it and enjoy using it. DM

The Case knives will always be overpriced. The Buck knives not so much. But still, unless it's a good deal, don't pay the marked price. Pawn shops usually get the knives in a 'box of stuff' and seldom have more than a few bux in 'em. That 120 was marked $60 and he probably had 20 bux tops in it. Back in the 90's I made good money lowballing pawnshops and then sending the knives to AG Russell to sell. I sold a lot of knives that I wish I'd kept.

I have a buck 124 from the 60s i think. Its kind of odd though. It has a hollow grind, but a convex edge too. Not just the final grind, it look almost like the wheel wasnt big enough. Does anyone know if that is standard. i looked at some pics on the net and they didnt have that kind of grind. It has a dark maroonish micarta handle too. Nice knife...

Is it true that Buck is really gonna bring back the 124 ? or is just a rumor?

I would rather buy a 124 instead of a 119. I would most likely buy 3 or 4 Buck 124s.

No, Buck will not bring back the 124.

There are platoons of them waiting to be bought on e-Bay.

Sharp, Yes the early knives had that type grind on them. Later the blade profile changed and thats probably the ones you saw. Buck does bring back the 124 from time to time in a Limited Edition. DM
