Hello. I got what I think is a beautiful Buck knife for Christmas. My son said the grips are ram horn. The blade is polished silver color and the only markings on it are Buck 192 C. and USA. The period or dot is up in the center of the C but I can't duplicate that on my keyboard. What I want to know, is does anyone know what kind of steel this is? I have an Alaskan Guide Buck 192 with brown wood handles and a black blade and it is S30V steel so I juw want to know what this new one has for blade material.

Thanks for any information.

Hi Nolan,

Rams Horn make a wonderful handle material both for looks and hard use;). Unless the blade is marked, it's most likely 420HC.

Thanks folks. All I know is that it is beautiful and sharp as a razor. I am proud of it. I am making a special sheath for it.
