Just wondering if last night's auction on the Bay of a 80's mint stag Mountain Man went to anyone here. I know EEE likes those big'uns and PackRat too.

Anyway, I'm also wondering what the real value of this knife should be?? It sold for $380.

Learning something else new. Is that a 916?

Does anyone have a pic?

Here you go Ohen,

It's a link to the completed Aution

I've been watching the MM bowies when they come up for auction. I have yet to see one sell for top $$$. They have been selling around 350 - 450. That is just a little to much $$$ for me:rolleyes:. But, one day I'll find one for the price I can afford:thumbup:

JB,
Thanks for the link! Fine looking knife.

Nice to learn something new in a day, especially something new that is good to know.

i dont did not see that listing
but the large bowies do sell mostly for less then 450
which is much less then they are worth considering
that some if the non bowies knives go for almost as much..

Actually, I don't have any of the big Bowies, other than whats in the Klink Series, a few pigstickers (but not really Bowies) and couple of LE 119's if those fall into the Bowie class. Maybe a Kalinga or three, and an Akonua or two.

I think I am glad I missed that auction :D

PR,

I guess I was thinking of JB. And Oh Yea, it was such a tempting knife. Big One in stag.

Gordon,

If you or any of the other Bowie additiced fellows would like a very nice 905. You should take a good look at the 905 Boone & Crockett classic issued this year. As I don't have any MM style bowies in my acumulation....this one is fantastic. No, it dose not have the stag handles....But, the Ironwood is beutiful, in addition, the blade is gold etched to commemorate T. Roosevelt
