Got your attention didn't I? Sometimes I have strange ideas go through my head and from reading some other threads, so do you all.

I was wondering if anyone has or has pictures (I'd love to see it) of a 110 that has been modified by adding the new 486 blade to it. Does the thumb stud actually help?

I know that Leroy Remer of Triple-K knives can do it. Anyone have him do this work for you?

Now if I've lost my mind, please let me know. This is far as the mutilation goes for my Bucks (so that makes it O.K., right?).

yup i have one ...
will look for pict
ah here they are..

they both got a some side ways looks in atlanta..
the diamond plate one is one of two done by
wild bill cody and he let me have it for the displays..
edit:
i can not tell you on the thumb stud as my right thumb
was cut in half by table saw and i can not work it..

Dave, thanks for the pictures. The 486 blade does look good on the 110. Did you have Leriy do the work for you or did you modify it yourself?

Leroy did it for me ..
he can do one for you
contact him at Leroy@Triple-R-Knives.com
you will need to send him the two knives needed
and ask him how much on labor..
you will lose the buck lite frame as it cracks..

When the 486 blade is installed in a 110 frame, the thumb stub placement is a bit too close to the end of the bolster to be easily used. Otherwise, it is an ok switch. If the thumb stud could be moved about 3/16 inch out toward the point, it would be much better.

no every thing worked with jest the blade swap..
the blade on mine is a a little stiffer after the swap
but with end what new ones come out as..
i would recomend a notch on the frame for the stud..for edc

You can get the thumb stud to work better if you bevel the corner of the bolster and handle. That way your thumb can get more purchase on the thumbstud.
