This started of as a review to test the edge angle at 15.5dps without a micro bevel but the test ended when the knife got stuck in this peace of wood. The most ridiculous knot ever. The knife took a bend which got worse the deeper it went. I had to hammer the knife towards the tip where it thins out quite a bit...

was the goal to finish the wood split or remove the knife? if it was remove the knife I'd have used a wood wedge and split the wood open from the top freeing the knife.....instead of hitting the knife with a hammer......

but yeah Bucks 420hc is pretty tough

I tried a wedge then decided whatever... I'm gonna complete the split.

People who denigrate everything except whatever latest steel is in fad.

Unfortunately, that is true all too often.

And at the same time, some of the same people who rarely use their knives complain when the edge chips instead of rolling a little.
