I have a somewhat weird question: I have an all-black, plain-edge nighthawk (bought for me by my wife in the 90s) that is perhaps a bit unusual: It has no blade stamp. All the other Buck Knives I've ever seen have a stamp that shows the model number and a symbol that helps place the date, but this one has nothing! Is that usual for the Nighthawks, or do I have a mistake?

Can you show us a picture? The thing to remember is that human beings were involved in the manufacture of your knife so stuff happens. A 650 Nighthawk was the 2nd Buck knife I ever owned. Doesn't show in the picture but it has a pat. pend. stamp.
