Hey guys what is the significance of the different letters following 650 and why are they sometimes facing backwards or upside down? Thanks guys.

hi ash from 1986 onwards buck has stamped the blades with those to date code them the various signs are the years
for example ^ is 1988 point it down and it is 1989 point it right 1987 and point it left and it is 1986

so the closer the letter is to the letter A the older the knife right? I have one that has a backwards C or maybe a sideways U. It is the black handle bead blasted finish.
