Buck nighthawks (650 series)

Does anyone know why they discontinued these?

I will post pictures of mine soon, it is a user. And has a custom kydex rig now.

Not discontinued. Lives on as the Tops 650 Nighthawk. Image from 2014 catalog.
There is also a shorter bladed version.

I'm a big fan of he Nighthawk series though I prefer the older models before the TOPS collaboration. Nothing wrong with the newer ones I just prefer mine without the built in oxygen bottle wrench in the blade.

Same here, I miss the original line. Overall I really like them, solid, thick and useful.

I have been looking for a long blade in black no serrations, they are out there but in some cases may be knockoffs (ebay)

You all have very nice collections for sure.

I've not seen any Nighthawk clones/fakes on the bay but will keep an eye out. If there auctions are closed perhaps you can post about it in the counterfeit thread.

I guess you have not perused the counterfit thread lately. Here are 2 I've posted there.
The first one even has "Nighthawk" etched on it. Both were on eBay.

No I haven't checked it out in a while. I've also not seen those model when doing a search for Buck Nighthawks. Thank for posting the photos.

I got ordered a new one the end of this past year from Buck, I don't mind the holes, but I don't like the big honk'n sheath that came with it. And I wish it had a real tang stamp.
My plans are to put a stag handle on it.

There are a few blades I regret not getting when they were available. The old version pre colab is one of them.

I was just getting into fixed blades when they phased them out.
