The Odyssey is great. I have three: two 182's (ats34, carbon-fiber scales) and one 181 (ats34, plastic scales.) Just about everything on the knife works very well for me, which is why I bought three of them, all new from the store. Well priced, too.
One change I made to my Odysseys was the tip. The tip of the Odyssey, as it comes from Buck, is quite narrow and pointy. I re-shaped the tips on two of my Odysseys to make them a little wider and less pointy. This re-shaping takes 1/8" to 3/16" off the tip.
Other than that, the Odyssey is a very well-designed and well-made knife, and certainly worth getting. I often carry one as my EDC. The carbon-fiber scales on the discontinued 182 are particularly nice.
As to the comments of others:
Thin liners. Yes, the liners are thin, but not too thin, so the Odyssey is not my first choice for stabbing through car doors. Otherwise, the liners are plenty strong for general knife use. The knife locks up well, is strong enough, and importantly, it locks up reliably, passing the spine-whack test and such. Also, the Odyssey has a good, reliable ball-bearing detent to keep the blade in it's closed position, a better detent than a lot of other knives.
The clip: Yeah, the clip is low, and IWB the knife sticks out a little too much. Not a big problem for me.
The steel: Somebody said the ats34 was soft. Not so on mine.
So buy one.
