Okay, it's silly and I know it. But...
You buy a knife, it goes out of stock, and all information on the knife seemingly gets wiped from the website. Once a product page is made, could it be made available in an archive somewhere? Maybe make it available to BCCI only just to save confusion?
Why do I care? The short version of the story is that I'm kind of an information junkie. I grew up, so to speak, in an era where reliable information about knife trivialities was hard to come by. For example, my first love was the 300 series knives. I discovered that there are nearly endless variations of this simple knife, so I bought every variation I could find. Doing that without buying endless duplicates meant keeping very detailed notes on every knife.
Move on into the 21st century. Go to a web page, and every knife is detailed pretty well, and the descriptions are consistent. I love that. I add the maker's information to the record of each knife I buy; it makes a pretty nice history of that knife. Now, suppose you buy a 119 without a fuller, and add a Slim Select to the order to take advantage of the free shipping. You get the knives, go to the Slim Select page for your vital statistics, and Wham!
