I'm a Bucklite guy... But I don't have any Bucklite fixed blades...

Need to get one someday... I EDC a 102 fixed blade and a 422

or a 424 when I do go camping or hunting or what ever... :)

The best thing to do is go to a knife show or a Store that sells them both

and hold them in your hand to see what you like best... You have to use it...

We all like different things... Good luck and I hope your Bro finds what

he likes best... ;)

I think the choice would be skeletonized handle vs rubberized handle. For work, I'd go with the rubberized handle so you won't develop hot spots, and it's more non-slip.

We would love to see it in hand but no one sells it around here

Maybe you guys can answer some question we have about them?

We are wondering

witch one has a thicker tip

Witch one would be better for some lite prying

Witch one cuts better

Thank for the help so far

Hey ZTD, in answer to your questions, here are my thoughts...I own both large and small versions of these knives:

- thicker tip: Paklite 141
- light prying: Paklite 141, it's 0.180 vs 0.110
- cuts better: either...they're both Bucks; they both come extremely sharp
- personal preference: I prefer the Bucklite Max's; weight-wise, very similar; blade shape, the Bucklite Max drop point; blade length, very similar

Good luck!

All I can say is that the paklite has the thickest tip out of ANY fixed blade I own.
that said, you can easily paracord wrap the handles, or make your own with a few tools and some time.

The only con to the paklite is the sheath strap is positioned to where you need to be careful opening and closing or you can slice it right off.

Get both. 20 + 20 = 40.
I carry both but I prefer the medium Max.
Pry with a pry bar.
