This Buck Paklite appears to be in a similar vein to the Becker Necker and Izula.. It's got a 2 7/8" blade (Buck 420HC) and costs about $17. Has anybody handled one of these?

I am glad you posted this. I was not aware of this product but I am betting that it will be a great little performer. I will soon see.:D

No, that's not a bad price for such a neat little knife.

That's what I was thinking. Buck's 420Hc doesn't seem too bad for that price.

Jim,

There are different styles of the blade to choose from. I'll buy one too and we can compare notes later.

I may see about the blade in the future. If I like it, I will definitely have to get a necker sheath for it.

The hollow grind won't be as robust as a flat grind, but I bet that little blade gets sharp as heck. Cheap investment makes considering a kydex custom sheath easy. If I see one somewhere while out shopping I probably won't be able to resist and impulse buy.

I like my little diamond back guide that I removed the rubber handle and added a paracord wrap. I'd probably add a wrap to this one too.

I'm also one of those guys who likes Buck's 420HC. I like 1095/O1 better, but I've learned to no snub my nose at Buck's stainless.

I like the second one better. Buck's 420HC is great stuff. It is very corrosion resistant, pretty durable, and it is easily sharpened. Those look like a pretty decent deal. Too bad they aren't flat ground.

I actually like them both. I bought the top one (skinner) to start with though... I agree with you and KGD on the 420HC, there are worse steels.

I like the second one the more, I'm dope when it comes to sharpening, and that recurve doesn't look fut. But for maybe a fishing or boat kit, that buck necker would be nice. Thier 420hc holds a good edge too. Godd factory edge too, way better than ka-bar.

You guys pick those up and I will grab a Smidgen and we can see how they all compare :D

You got it..

They are kinda like of Moras at that price, if they are decent, you can throw one in each kit/vehicle.
