Ok I did a stupid thing. I was getting some hardend concrete off of my SBMF that was lodged under the clip and lost the damn thing. I really dont want to send it back to buck. They did say that they would put a new one on for me, and have been great in the customeer service dept, but unfortunatly they dont just sell the clip. I do want to have it fixed but I really dont want to be without it see this thread.

So I know that you can get some parts for the swiss knives online is there anywere to get Buck parts. This is not a flame job on Buck. I can honestly say that the customer service girl was fantastic, but I just do not want to give up the knife for several weeks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm not familiar with that knife...Can you describe the clip???

I have two clips off 442's that I'll never use...and Texas Knifemaker's Supply and Jantz both list clips...

But if you're going to be chipping concrete [ ] with your knife, why not just trot down to Wal-Mart and get a 110-in-a-tin for $24 or possibly less, and save the $50 SBMF for sausages and pickles... :)

Well I would have a hard time describing the chipping because what happens is the cold of the truck and the heat of the water seperates the two and you really just pry it off. The crete however got there from cutting calcium bags to add it to the load. The knife was laid onthe superstructure and just picked it up. I put the knife away not really looking at it. I am rough on ht eknives I own and this one is really bullett proof.

To the best of my knowledge, the only place to get parts for a Buck is through Buck. Since they do all their warranty work in-house, I can't even recall hearing about a repair shop anywhere that would fix your knife or sell you parts. I know they don't even return the old blades when you send a knife in for repair or up-grade. Guess they don't want their "parts" easily available for others to get and copy.

Some others here on the forum have been buying "beaters" off eBay and using them for parts for various projects, but I don't think a SBMF is on anyone's workbench at the time. As much as I hate to say it, sending it to Buck may be the only option.

Maybe an email to Joe Houser might help ya....
