Decided I need a small knife to carry everyday in my pocket. :D I have studied the smaller folders available from Buck. I think I want something "small" and "thin". :) Are the 500 series Bucks made in the USA by Buck or are they "offshore" produced? Interested in any comments about these smaller knives. :D thanks!:D

And it shows. I'm looking at my prince right now and its just tight and locks perfect like a tiny bank vault. I have large hands and I have not the slightest trouble opening it and closeing it with one hand. Its just 5/16s of a inch thick. Kinda heavy on account of how its built but very thin. It's my everyday carry. If you want to look at a fancy version there are some with stag and AG Russell has them in gold lip pearl. A great carry knife. At the risk of getting flamed to a cinder its a much better carry knife than my buck 532 BG42 that chips the edge like crazy and is never sharp. I much perfer, on a everyday use knife, the 420HC in my experiance.

Gents, looking at a White Knight 506 versus Prince Stag 503. Leaning towards the smaller White Knight. What cha' think?

The White Knight is a classic and very classy to boot but I think the Prince is a more useful knife. It is just that little bit larger that makes it fill your hand better. The Prince has a place in my heart because it was my first Buck, a gift from my wife before we were married. The 505 or 506 Knight is a very tiny knife. Two fingers is better for whiskey than for knives.

WtheB, I think I agree with you but I sure like the look of the White Knight. I gather it is no longer made so I might have to acquire. This particular Prince is Stag and the box does say 503ST but is not the LE. Did Buck offer the Prince as both a Stag and a Stag LE??

wow such decisons !!!
i know !!!;)
buy both!
hee hee hee
i love being a smarty some times!:D

Missed them both!! :grumpy: Guess I gonna have to go hunting for SNIPES! :grumpy: Rats!

I show the 501LE Squire, 503LE Prince, 505LE Knight as limited editions WITH Sambar stag handles.
I didn't see any listing of LE models without the stag.

Retail Pricing Shows:
501LE 129.95
503LE 109.95
505LE 99.95

I dunno either. Do you have one?
They make a 521 Artist's series.

Welcome to the Buck Forum Brothers!!!

Here is a poor quality fast pic of a 522 that came to me in a lot buy once.

is 3/16 inch thin

Kind of an interesting knife, super thin and a nice blade. This one is 1997 and doesn't look like the blade has ever been sharpened.

I have thought about working out those initials ,,,maybe,,,some day,,,, put it on the roundtuit list...

I bought and carried a 55 and a 503. Both excellent knives and a good office carry. I have finally settled on the 501. Carry's well in jeans, it's a bit larger and better for the occaisional outside use.
