Anyone know value on a Buck "Rattler" limited edition knife?
Can't find in a Google search or on ebay. Blade is etched with a scroll and a rattlesnake.
The blade looks new but the brass is tinked up a bit from carrying.
Stag or bone handle.
Buck #112 and edition is 300 knives.

Send me a picture and I will post it for you. I will also help you value the knife. What is the condition? Carried and sharpened? Carried and unsharpened? Tell me if it has a sheath, box and/or papers? What exactly is stamped on the blade? Peace,
Mike B

According to Levine's Guide 4th Edition there is a 112 Coiled Rattler that was issued in 1984. There were 250 produced and the issue price was $95.00. The value in 1992 for one in perfect condition was $200.

Hope this helps.

Dave,
Thanks for the help, the only thing i can add is that it should show that we made 300 pieces, not 250. Got to get that changed in the next edition.

Everybody needs to remember that back when I did that original Levine's info there were a WHOLE lot fewer Buck etched knives. At that point it was conceivable to get one of everything. Now, that is almost beyond comprehension so every collector I know has specialized; that has hurt the 112's because very few people collect them. Thus, I would say the Rattler is worth less today than it was 10 years ago. I do not, however, rememnber any stag or bone on the Rattler. Does anyone else?

I saw a mint stag handled Rattler on Ebay about a month ago that went for $150.00 if thats any help.:)

For what its worth, the few folks i have talked to about this knife have all said that their's has stag inlays.
