I have been looking at these online but I cannot get a feel for it from the pictures and I can't find any around here at retail. Any thoughts on the knife? I just want to know about build quality and the like. Thanks.

Are you sure it's not RedPoint? That would be model 750 in the 2009 catalog.

And 'ol Trax has terminal CRS... :p

It's funny...I can remember John Camann, Danny Thompson, and me playing with trucks in our old sandbox back in 1955, but I can't remember what I had for dinner two days ago... :(

So, does anyone have one? Any thoughts on the general quality of the knife? I know that it is a less expensive buck, but with money a bit tight, I would like to know if it is worth the $30.

I don't have one and I don't remember anyone mentioning them here before you. It could be because they are one of Buck's imports. Unless you are just simply knocked out over the look and design of the knife, there are some other alternatives in that price range that are USA made. The Vantage series, 340 and 345 are a couple whose suggested retail price is less than the Red Point and have some fans here on the forum. There is also the Buck Lite Max series and they are also USA made and list for less than theRed Point.

I was looking at the Redpoint as well as a cheaper knife that I wouldn't mind losing/having stolen on vacation. The Buck imports are nice, but there is no comparison to the build quality of their US-made counterparts. I'm leaning toward the Bucklite now. Seems like it is just the ticket.

The Redpoint is a nice knife for the money. the button lock works great and is has smooth action, and a rubber coated handle for grip. Great for an EDC with out the stress of losing a $100 knife.

Perhaps I'm a bit biased, but I really enjoy the Redpoint. The fit and finish is quite good (IMO) and the mechansm is really slick to operate - you pull back the button with your thumb and rotate the blad open by puttinf your index finger on the nubs on the back of the blade. My only problem is I keep giving them away to friends because I want them to try one and it's a good price for a gift. I need to get another one for me (again).

I think you'll find that it's worth the cost.

Another good option for about the same money would be the Vantage Select (large or small) - smooth flipping action, liner lock, and made in the USA. All for about $30.

I do like the look of the knife, but I also like to look of the Vantage. I am really just in the market for a decent daily user that does not break the bank. Something light in the pocket (with a clip). My 110 is just too big and heavy for office carry. The look of the redpoint just caught my eye, but the made in US thing is a big consideration.
